Lion Tailed Macaque is one of the endangered animals of India, endemic to the Western Ghat region. Arignar Anna Zoological Park is the conservation breeding centre for Lion Tailed Macaque recognized by the Central Zoo Authority. The animal is exhibited in an open naturalistic environment in a wet moated enclosure simulating their natural habitat. The exhibit is enriched by special rope hangings, bridges and climbers for the animal to play and relax. The enclosure is planted with Pithecellobium dulce (Koddukka puli in Tamil) one of its most favorite diets.
